‘The Intervarsity Debate Competition on The Women’s Reservation Bill’ was organized by the Literary Society at the Department of English & Foreign Languages, Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, Haryana on Feb 27, 2019 at 12:00 onwards, where two students of Team A– Ms Pooja & Ms Priti from Department of English, FOH, Baba Mastnath University, Asthal Bohar, Rohtak participated with enthusiasm.
After lamp-lighting and invocation to goddess Saraswati, Dr Rashmi Malik, Advisor of the programme, welcomed the gathering and encouraged the students for participating in the event. Dr Lovleen Mohan, Head– Department of English & Foreign Languages, in her key-note address, emphatically articulated, “If women can elect their representatives, they can be elected as representatives for the Parliament of India.”
Eight teams from BMU, Gaur Brahman Degree College, Vaish Degree College, Maharani Kishori Jat Kanya Mahavidyalaya, Neki Ram College among others participated in the event. The teams cheerfully explored the opportunities for women from the kitchen to the Parliament.
Dr Kavita A Jain (Dean, FOH) with Ms Neha and Ms Alisha (Guest Faculty, Department of English, FOH) congratulated the students of M.A. (English) for confidently representing Baba Mastnath University. Ms Devina Budhwar, who mentored the students of BMU for the activity, expressed her joy on the successful participation of the students. Dr Abnish Singh, HOD-English greeted the positive efforts of the students and asserted the need of knowledge acquisition through co-curricular activities in today’s world of education.
